| Governance
ART wishes to acknowledge the support given by Mazars LLP, its auditors and certifying body during the Project. The agreed method of cost allocation and interpretation of eligibility criteria at the outset proved extremely helpful in ensuring a smooth, quick, and professional certification procedure for claims, and allowed us to submit claims to our lead partner on a timely basis. We would add that particular attention has been given to ensure “clean” matched funding for the project, which could have been an issue for some seminar expenditure.
As the umbrella body for rivers trusts in England & Wales, ART actively promotes good governance standards. Mazars kindly gave a presentation at our workshop in May 2005 on legal, administrative and financial governance the principles of good compliance, which we are please to make available by clicking here (File size: 740kb - File format: Self Extracting Presentation)
For financial perspective, the 2 year U.TdR Project total expenditure budget was approximately €1.6 million, of which ART’s gross allocation was €162,000. As ART is based and operates within an Objective 1 area, its intervention rate has been 75%, meaning that it has had to provide 25% matched funding. In terms of expenditure incurred, ART fully spent its budget allocation.
